Description
The island of Saint Helena, one of the most remote islands on the planet, has a fascinating history rich with international trade and commerce. The Island was seen as an oasis by explorers and conquerors such as the Dutch, Portuguese, and English, all vying for control of the crucial port of call.
To honor the history of this island and its contribution to the foundation of our modern global economy, the 99.9% silver bar is designed in a unique 250-gram denomination. The reverse side of the coin-bar features a British Vessel, branded with the insignia of the East India Company of London. The East India Company owned some of the greatest sailing vessels of the 17th and 18th centuries, and the design element shows one of their powerful vessels traversing the ocean. On the obverse, is a depiction of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II created by Raphael Maklouf. The intricate detailing on the bar creates a symphony of bullion and art.
This distinctive rectangular bullion coin makes an excellent addition to any investment portfolio or a great gift for those that are passionate about history, economics and art.
