A common guest of residential Australian gardens, the kookaburra is the largest member of the kingfisher species. Kookaburras gather at dusk and dawn to declare territorial boundaries with shrill, cackling laughs. Having first heard the call of the Australian Kookaburra in 1990, investors have been faithful to the iconic silver series for more than three decades.
Each coin’s reverse portrays a kookaburra in flight over a gorge with a snake in its talons. All coin designs incorporate the inscription ‘KOOKABURRA’, a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth mint’s 125th anniversary, the 2024 year-date, the weight and purity.
The obverse of each coin bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.
