Coca Cola's first polar bear print advertisement appeared in France in 1922. Over the next 70 years, these furry friends appeared now and then in Coca-Cola® ads. In 1993, the "Always Coca-Cola" campaign began running animated commercials showing the polar bears in the Arctic.
One such commercial, "Northern Lights" introduced what would become one of the most popular symbols of Coca-Cola® advertising.
